Protein
Fast weight loss can include a meaningful share of muscle. Many clinicians suggest roughly 1.2–1.6 g of protein per kg of body weight a day during weight loss, along with strength training. Some people find it easier to eat protein at the start of meals, while they still have appetite. Protein shakes and meal delivery for GLP-1 users.
Fiber
Constipation is a common side effect. Fiber from vegetables, fruit, legumes and whole grains, with enough fluid, is commonly recommended. Fiber supplements are an option some people discuss with their clinician. GLP-1 support supplements.
Fluids
Eating less also means taking in less water from food. Vomiting or diarrhea can cause dehydration, which the labels link to kidney problems. Regular fluids through the day are commonly advised.
Foods some people find harder
Large, greasy or very sweet meals are often reported to make nausea worse. Smaller, more frequent meals and stopping when full are common strategies.
Where shakes and meal delivery fit
- Protein shakes can help on days when appetite is very low.
- Meal delivery services with high-protein menus can reduce cooking effort.
- Neither is required. A dietitian can advise whether they fit your needs.
